- St Dominic's Priory - UK premiere (Martin Stacey)

Some of you will know that Choir & Organ Magazine commissioned Martin Stacey to write a piece for them at the beginning of this year. Totentanz - Hommage à Petr Eben received its first performance in Los Angeles (Royce Hall, UCLA) last weekend played by the Canadian concert organist Maxine Thévenot, for whom the piece was written.
Maxine will be giving the UK premiere of this piece as part of her recital at St Dominic's Priory (Southampton Road, NW5 4LB) on Friday 4th July at 7:30pm. Admission is free.

CHRIST CHURCH, WANSTEAD, London E11. The three manual Hill organ of 1878, transferred from St Mary Magdalene, Manningham, Bradford, has now been restored by David Wells Organ Builders, with the aid of a generous grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. An opening recital will be given by Thomas Trotter at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday the 27th September 2008, when he promises an intriguing programme of music by Handel, W.T. Best, Elgar and Boëllmann. Tickets, price £10, are available from The Rectory, 37 Wanstead Place, Wanstead, London E11 2SW. Please enclose a S.A.E, and make cheques payable to 'The Parish of Wanstead Organ Fund.'
