• Advance notice of organ masterclasses
  www.mg-music.com send us news of two interesting courses in 2005. From March 30th to April 3rd in Paris is an organ masterclass with Thierry Escaich at St. Etienne du Mont, and from the 29th to 31st of July, the South German Organ Academy visits organs in Weingarten (Gabler), Ottobeuren (Riepp) and Rot (Holzhey). • News from America
  Flentrop's 1969 organ for Branford Congregational Church has recently been restored by that firm with minor alterations to the specification including a new Viola and Vox Humana. You can see the old specification and a picture here, but details aren't on Flentrop's website yet. Elsewhere in America, the Disney Concert Hall Rosales/Glatter-Gtz organ in Los Angeles was inaugurated to critical acclaim with a sold-out four day gala that saw 10,000 people attend concerts from Fred Swann and Todd Hunter. Finally, the Yale Institute of Sacred Music has commissioned Taylor and Boody to build a new mechanical action organ for the Marquand Chapel at Yale Divinity School. The organ is inspired by Schnitger and the North German school, and will be tuned in quarter comma meantone, with split accidentals and short bass octaves on all manuals. It should be completed by Autumn 2007, and details will appear in due course on Taylor and Boody's website.
