Peter Naylor: Tides of Summer - 5 pieces for organ

Peter Naylor: Tides of Summer - 5 pieces for organ. Fagus Music

£8.00

These pieces have descriptive titles: Clouds & Sails, Wings of the Morning, Noon, Night Voices, Light. The writing is economical & very well crafted & Naylor has the knack of achieving a lovely flowing continuity within each movement. Readers must decide for themselves whether the melodic ideas or gentle dissonances repay repeated hearings, but for those who enjoy the music of, say, Alan Gibbs, these pieces are well worth exploring. They're pretty easy works to learn - a modest 2-manual instrument will suffice - & they're suitable for liturgical or recital use.
