This set contains several attractive compositions, all characterized by an easy melodic style with some counterpoint and often modal. Particularly appealing were 'Nativity Dance' based on Hark, The Herald Angels' and 'Rumination on an Old Rose' on a C17th German melody. All are short and of about Grade 6 standard. Registration indications would suggest a moderately well stocked tonal palette is required, especially a Krummhorn!
