This live recording was made in 1994 in the Musikvereinssaal in Vienna, with forces which include the Vienna Boys Choir. The other soloists and conductor, Peter Marschik, were unknown to me before I encountered this DVD release. Not a problem given the quality of the singing but a little disconcerting when one finds that the booklet has obviously been truncated somewhere through production. Full notes in three languages on the Soprano, a German comment on the Gabriel - then nothing! All one can do is sit back and enjoy - and thankfully there is much here to delight the ear. Sprightly tempi, precise phrasing and excellent ensemble work. A pleasure!
