Barbara Brodbeck's refreshing introduction to the pipe organ is fun for both the young and young at heart. The text is written at the level of children old enough to express an interest in the pipe organ, but many adults unfamiliar with the pipe organ might appreciate its simple style. Andrew Dittmar's many cartoon-style illustrations are both fun and accurate, and younger readers will enjoy following the adventures of "Tutti" the mouse who is somewhere in all of them. There are only a few points where the book's American origin is noticeable, such as the extended keyboard compasses. My only question is whether any younger children still express interest in learning about the pipe organ. If your answer is "yes", look no further.
